During March 13-15, a religious gathering was organized by the headquarters of a Muslim missionary in the Tablighi Jamaat, Nizamuddin area, New Delhi. The shutdown was announced on March 22nd which led thousands of people to shut down in the Markaz for several days. Out of them, several foreigners were infected with coronavirus. This led to thousands of people getting infected, which spread the coronavirus on a large scale. Due to this incident, 4400 cases were found positive from those involved in the religious gathering. This leads to the carelessness of the Jamaat leadership who led the foreigners to enter into India due to the gathering which ultimately infected people.
