What is Cabozer?
Cabozer blocks the Tyrosine kinase enzyme, which mediates cancer cells.
It is the targeted therapy drug that prevents cancer from spreading and growing.
Uses of Cabozer –
It is used for advanced stages of cancer –
• Renal cell carcinoma
• Hepatocellular carcinoma
• Thyroid cancer
How does Cabozer work?
It works by
• Starvation of cancer cells- the formation of new blood vessels is blocked
• Inhibit cancer cell growth
Common side effects of Cabozer
• Side effects that occur in 10 percent of the people
• Nausea, vomiting, fatigue, high blood pressure, mucosal ulcers, hand-foot syndrome, loss of appetite, changes in taste, changes in thyroid levels.
Serious Side-effects
• Occurs in 1 percent of the patients
• Severe bleeding or hemorrhage
• Elevation of the liver enzymes
• GIT perforation- inflammation in GIT wall
Rare side-effects
• Seizers
• Cardiovascular risk – clots and strokes
• Damage to the jawbone.
• Delayed wound healing
Contraindications
• Not to be used in patients with prior hypersensitivity to the drug or its excipients.
• Breastfeeding mothers
• Pregnant women
Precautions
To be used carefully in people with –
• Bleeding disorder
• Cardiovascular diseases
• Hepatic, renal impairment
• Recent surgery or wound
• Disorders of the stomach
