What is Tafnext?
It is an antiviral medicine that controls chronic Hepatitis B and HIV-1 infections.
Uses of Tafnext
• Chronic Hepatitis B
• As a combination therapy in HIV-1 infections
How does it work?
It inhibits the enzyme that causes viral replication and multiplication.
It causes natural viral cell death.

• Pale hands and feet (blue coloration)
• Dark urine, yellow eyes, pale stool
• Fluid retention-swelling of joints
• Sudden inflammatory reaction on starting the treatment.
Precautions
To be used cautiously in patients with:
• Kidney disorders
• HIV—Co-infections
• Liver transplant
• Elderly Patients
• Postmenopausal women
• People at risk of osteoporosis
Contraindication—
• Not to be used if any previous allergy or hypersensitivity to tenovofir or any excipients.
• Breastfeeding mothers
• Pregnant women
• It should not be used as monotherapy for HIV patients
