Description
Tudobest (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg) is an anti-HIV-1 and HBV drug indicated in adults and children over 2 years of age weighing at least 35 kgs. Irrespective of the type of infection, Tudobest (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg) is administered orally once daily without food.
Tudobest (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg) is capable of preventing the duplication of viral cells by hindering the replication process. It allows fumarate to control the infection and boost our immune system. Even though the combined activity does not cure HIV-1 infection at will yet it improves the quality of life of such patients. However, before starting Tudobest (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg), all HBV-infected patients should be tested for HIV antibodies.
Modified dosing in patients with kidney (renal) impairment:
- Mild (Creatine Clearance: 50-80 mL/min): Dosage adjustment is not recommended
- Moderate (Creatine Clearance: 50 or greater mL/min): 1 tablet of 300 mg every 24 hours
- Moderate renal impairment (Creatine Clearance: 30-49 mL/min): 1 tablet of 300 mg every 48 hours
- Severe (Creatine Clearance: 10-29 mL/min): 1 tablet of 300 mg every 72 to 96 hours
- Hemodialysis: 1 tablet of 300 mg every 7 days or after completing the dialysis cycle
Note: Creatinine clearance test: Used for checking the functioning of the kidney
