Description
Viraday consists of three molecules combined in a fixed-dose combination for managing HIV-1 infection in adults. The molecules include tenofovir disoproxil (TDF) 300 mg, Efavirenz (EFV) 600 mg, and Emtricitabine (FTC) 200 mg. In terms of dosage, the triple-combination drug is taken orally as a single tablet once daily without food. The bedtime dosing schedule is preferred over others, as it eliminates out possibility of procuring symptoms of the nervous system.
Viraday (TDF 300 mg + EFV 600 mg + FTC 200 mg) is avoided in patients with moderate to severe renal (kidney) impairment. It is indicated as a complete regimen for preventing the multiplication of HIV cells in the body. However, it does not necessarily cure the infection.
