What is Carbokast?

Carbokast is an anticancer drug that is used to treat solid tumors and various other cancers.

Uses of carbokast-

Lung cancer,

Bladder cancer,

Breast cancer,

Head and neck cancer

Cancer of the cervix and

Cancer of the Testicles

Brain tumors.

Mechanism of action of Carbokast

Carbokast causes crosslinking of DNA strands, inhibiting DNA replication or division.

Handling instructions

It should be handled cautiously due to its cytotoxic nature.

Wash if the drug comes in contact.

Aluminum needles and intravenous sets reduce therapeutic efficacy.

General Side-effects

Nausea

Peripheral neuropathy

Contraindication

In patients with -

Storage

To be stored at 2-8 °C. Protect from light.

Discard the solution after 8 hours.
