How does Apraketo work?
Ketoconazole works by –
• Blocking ergosterol synthesis
• Which breaks the fungal cell membrane integrity
• Causes fungal cell death.

• Abdominal pain
• Loss of appetite
• Dark urine
• Fatigue
• Diarrhea
Serious Side Effects
• These are dose-dependent side effects that occur at high doses or long-term use
• Severe liver toxicity –jaundice, pale urine, and stool
• Adrenal insufficiency
• Arrhythmia
• QT prolongation
Contraindications
Not to be used in patients –
• Hypersensitive or allergic to the drug or its excipients.
• Breastfeeding mothers
• Pregnant women

It should be used cautiously in patients with

• Alcohol abuse
• History of irregular heartbeat
