Inhibit the cancer enzymes, causing cell growth. Inhibits DNA synthesis. Causes Apoptosis, cancer cell death

Toxicities

Hydroxyurea causes dose-dependent systemic toxicities. Bone marrow suppression causing thrombocytopenia, leukopenia Oral ulcers and mucositis. Shortness of breath, cough, pulmonary fibrosis Hyperpigmentation and skin ulcers
