Abstet Tablet

The Abstet Tablet is prescribed to patients with prostate cancer. Its medical efficacy in treating additional conditions is up to the discretion of the treating physician. As part of combination chemotherapy, it is sometimes used in conjunction with other drugs.

You should take an Abstet Tablet without food. There is some evidence that taking it with food can mitigate any potential adverse effects. Your doctor should determine the appropriate dosage and how often you should take it. This will vary from treatment to treatment and may change over time. You should strictly follow your doctor’s instructions. Extremely harmful effects can occur if it is taken incorrectly or in excessive quantities. If your doctor has told you to continue taking the medication, do so even if you haven’t yet noticed any improvement; it may take several weeks or months before you feel any positive effects.

Common negative reactions to this drug include nausea, diarrhoea, decreased potassium levels in the blood, swelling, decreased white blood cell count, fatigue, and elevated liver enzymes. Consult with your doctor if any of these symptoms persist or seem severe. Maybe there’s a way to lessen or stop them altogether. In addition to this, other symptoms that point to a liver problem include skin yellowing, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, dark urine, and nausea. It’s possible that your doctor will examine your liver, blood pressure, and potassium levels.

Make sure to inform your doctor if you suffer high blood pressure, heart disease, liver or kidney problems or taking any medicines to treat infections. You should inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking because these medications can interact with or be affected by them. Pregnant women and lactating mothers should not take this medication. During therapy, it is critical that both men and women use reliable methods of birth control to avoid becoming pregnant. While receiving treatment, your blood glucose level may need to be monitored frequently.

How to use

Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor in the dosage and time frame specified. Take it all in at once. Avoid chewing, crushing or breaking it in any way. It is best to take Abstet Tablet without meal.

How it works

The oncology drug Abstet Tablet is formulated to combat cancer. The reduction of androgen (male hormone) production is the mechanism by which it exerts its effect in humans. The production of androgen is suppressed by blocking the enzyme CYP17. The progression of prostate cancer is slowed in this way.

Precautions

 Alcohol – SEEK THE ADVICE OF YOUR DOCTOR
It’s not known if Abstet Tablet and alcohol are compatible. Please seek medical advice.

Pregnancy -UNSAFE
Pregnant women should avoid taking Abstet Tablet. Consult your doctor, as research on pregnant women and animals has revealed that certain medications can have serious adverse effects on the growing foetus or newborn.

Breast feeding – UNSAFE
It is not recommended to take Abstet Tablet while lactating. The medicine may be hazardous to the baby, according to data.

Driving  -SAFE
Abstet Tablet generally does not impair your ability to drive.

Kidney – SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Patients with kidney condition can safely take Abstet Tablet. There is no need to modify the dosage of Abstet Tablet.
However, there is little data on its usage in patients with end-stage kidney disease.

Liver – CAUTION
Patients with liver problems should use Abstet Tablet with caution. A change in the dosage of Abstet Tablet is possible. Please seek medical advice.

Tips

Abstet Tablet is used to treat advanced prostate cancer that has spread to other organs.

Prednisolone is often used in combination with this drug to lessen the severity of side effects.

It needs to be consumed upon an empty stomach. Your dose needs to be taken with an empty stomach, so avoid eating for at least 2 hours beforehand or afterward.

Always use an effective form of birth control to avoid pregnancy while taking this medication.

While taking this medication, your doctor may perform routine checks on your liver, blood pressure, and potassium levels.
