Mycophenolate Sodium Tablet is a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug. Mycophenolate Sodium Tablets are prescribed in diseases where one’s own body can turn upon itself. It is an immunosuppressant and thus helps in lowering the activity levels of the immune system. It is mostly prescribed in rheumatoid arthritis and kidney and organ transplant.
Mycophenolate can be used in tandem with other medicines to keep body from not accepting kidney transplant. This medicine belongs to immunosuppressants. Basically, it weakens the body’s immune system (the natural defence system of the body) and helps body to accept the newly transplanted kidney. In a way, it tells the body to accept the (external) kidney as if it was the part of the body itself.

When should Mycophenolate sodium 360 mg and 180 mg be avoided or used cautiously?

- Low levels of neutrophils.
