It is an immunosuppressant and thus helps in lowering the activity levels of the immune system. It is mostly prescribed in rheumatoid arthritis and kidney and organ transplant.

 Laboratory side effects of Mycophenolate Sodium Tablet

The severe side effects of this tablets, are not that common.

• Increased risk of PML (progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy), a type of brain infection.
• Low or high levels of white blood cells.
• Decreased levels of blood platelets.
• Low levels of neutrophils.
• Thyroid level lowered.
